PRE CARE

Proper preperation for your appointment will not only provide a more ideal canvas for your artist but will help support your investment!

  • 1 MONTH PRIOR to your appointment discontinue use of any anti aging, brightening or lightening products on and around the area to be tattooed - this includes: retinols, glycolics, AHAs / BHAs, or vitamin C serums. Please also discontinue use of any brow/lash serums.

  • 3 - 4 WEEKS PRIOR to (or after your treatment) it is safe to receive neuromodulators (Botox, Dysport, Fillers, etc) however, the artist preference is that you refrain from these until your 1st & 2nd sessions are complete and you are fully healed.

  • 1 - 2 WEEKS PRIOR to your treatment begin to focus heavily on hydration, as this aids in your healing. Do NOT wax, pluck, thread, tint or dye the area to be tattooed.

  • 24-48 HOURS PRIOR Do NOT consume alcohol, caffeine, aspirin, ibuprofen (any NAISD’s), fish oils or any natural herbs that contribute to blood thinning. The previously mentioned thin the blood, which can contribute to bleeding and may prohibit the pigment from implanting in the skin - this can effect your retention. Do NOT work out heavily on the morning of your appointment. Light exercise is okay but nothing excessive as this can contribute to heavy bleeding and compromise your retention.

AFTER CARE

Your artist will provide you with detailed aftercare instructions specific to your treatment and talk through the importance of following aftercare during your session.

DO NOT:

  • Do not rub or pick the area after treatment. Light flaking is normal.

  • Do not exercise after your treatment and refrain from any activity that causes excessive sweating. Please wait at least one full week to work out.

  • Do not apply makeup to the tattooed area until healed.

  • Do not tan or have any prolonged sun exposure for at least 10 days post treatment.

  • Do not use harsh cleansers or exfoliates on the area.

  • Do not receive a glycolic peel, laser treatment, facial or any injectables (botox, fillers, etc) for at least 4 weeks after your treatment.

  • Do not wax or tint on/near the tattoo until after fully healed.

  • Do not use any kind of chemical or ointment on the tattoo (aside from your provided aftercare) until healed.

  • Do not forget to drink your water! Staying hydrated will significantly help aid in the healing of your new tattoo.

LONG TERM CARE

Your cosmetic tattoo is an investment and will require continued care.

Sun exposure will lighten your tattoo. Regularly applying an SPF on the area once fully healed will assist with retention. Anti-aging products and exfoliation treatments used directly on and around the treated area will lighten your tattoo. It is pertinent to tell your skin care professional to stay clear of the tattooed area.

Annual touch up appointments are necessary to maintain color and detail.
